Dryfork, AR - Carroll County
History of Dryfork
Dry Fork is a small community located off of HWY 68 in South Carroll County. The Dry Fork Post Office was established on October 16, 1874, with William W. Stanfield serving as the first postmaster. It remained open until November 30, 1948, when the mail service was ultimately transferred to the Marble Post Office in nearby Marion County. One of the first "grain drills" in Carroll County was operated in Dry Fork by a man named Howard Miller in about 1906.
